Hey Spitzy! Welcome to substacklandia! Fun to see you here, as the medium was made for a ranter/funnyman like you. I wish you tons of luck with it. As for mixtapes...the most important one I ever made was a series of pacifying songs to play during childbirth, for Claire. I was important in those birthing rooms, but only only in my capacity to ensure that the music never stopped while Claire was doing the hardest thing anybody ever has to do: Extrude another human being from their body. James Taylor was her labor coach, I was the tape flipper. It worked!

It's digital, but kind of a mixtape, by my now retired minister, and it has more than its fair share of the Mountain Goats, Frank Turner, Craig Finn, Wilco/Wilco/Sun Volt/Golden Smog and, you knew it was coming, a Beatles chaser. Rev. Ken made it for a virus (covid), not a girl. Or at least he made it during the depths of covid. I think you'll like. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4NaBZm8pkiQ9TV2WAGxlPu?si=266b5626afb943f6 And I subscribed. We'll see about paying for this :)

Great post (you’ve only just been recommended to me). I post a weekly, curated, playlist ... or should I be calling it a mixtape? It’s the length of a traditional LP, or one side of a C90 (I was a TDK user mostly).
